"Character is fate."
Some say fate is unchangeable, it's "fated," others believe you can change your destiny, some believe that you can make your fate more or less comfortable, although still arriving at the same basic outcomes, dependent largely upon your choices and attitudes.
Yet another, small percentage of people I have met believed they can 'erase' all karma and achieve mastery, have said they had done so yet then sought my opinion on their future choices.
To my logic and instinct, self mastery doesn't require validation, however that said, I feel that a true master of their own destiny never assumes they know it all, for to do so is to create a paradigm of having to relearn from the beginning all over again.
I feel the point Heraclitus, as well as the Iroquois might have been making is that your character adds or subtracts from your outcomes through the power of your self understanding, your knowing of your thoughts, actions, intent, ideals, and the care about the impact upon your own life and the lives of those you interact with, or who will be affected by your choices whether now or in the future.
To know yourself is to know your boundaries and limitations... what your ethics are... and that, I believe, is helpful for the best outcomes of what fate hands you, and then what you do with it, and therefore see as outcome. (Jacquelene)
How do readings, healing and meditation help?
Readings put you in touch with your deeper and higher self, through insights about your path and nature from an outside and guided perspective, so that you can get to know more about the energies at your positive disposal, as well as recognizing which personal patterns and attitudes may be holding you back, or diminishing your personal power. Healing sessions can also help you reconnect to that personal power and life force and give you a kick start and cleansing, and leave you with greater understanding of your needs. Meditation helps clear and calm the mind. The breath controls the mind and the mind controls the body. Learning to be better in tune with your body, mind and soul helps you be clearer on your life's direction, and about living more harmoniously with yourself and others.
On this topic, the Dalai Lama has said "Man sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. Then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn't enjoy the present: the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."
More Heraclitus Quotes...
"Eyes and ears are poor witnesses to people if they have uncultured souls."
"The way up and the way down are one and the same."
"To do the same thing over and over again is not only boredom: it is to be controlled by rather than to control what you do."
"To God everything is beautiful, good, and just; humans, however, think some things are unjust and others just."
"Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play."
Learning more about the self to get more out of life...
To know yourself you don't have to necessarily go live in an ashram and do 8 hours of yoga a day. It can be as simple as taking notice of what you just thought...may be even right when you were reading the last paragraph.
Remember we cannot love nor hate anything within anyone else unless we love or hate that same quality in ourselves, either in how we treat or view others, or how we treat and view ourselves.
Self knowledge and honesty with the self makes it much easier to slide through what could be difficult or unnecessary and side tracking conflicts. Instead, the self aware remains in a state of peace and undeterred from personal and professional goals. It doesn't mean that drama doesn't happen at all in or around their life, but that their approach to life is one of calm and patience in the face of things that many leave the less self aware making decisions in haste that bear long standing and undesired consequences.
This means attaining harmony and the higher possibility of the fate on offer to you and achieving more than if you had said "If it is to be it will just happen" or "but they stopped me/ ruined it for me." When we externalize too much about what others are or are not doing right in our view, we really give them far more power in our lives and we give ourselves far less achievement. Really, all things come from and return to ourselves. When you know yourself, you don't hide yourself or your intentions, there is no need for manipulation, there is no need to project onto others or raise expectations of them that are unrealistic.
In being direct, honest, compassionate, and strong, you engender reliability, which people tend to pick up on and respond favorably to, unless of course they don't like those qualities in people, in which case you have saved yourself time that would have been wasted on experiences that don't integrate with your values, so it's still a win anyway.
In making effort, the universal energy responds more favorably to us than by focusing negatively on the achievements of others, or just sitting by waiting for it to happen independently of us taking action.
If it is to be
If it is to be
If it is to be
It is up to me
Kwan Yin is said to carry a vase of tears of mercy and compassion for the benefit of humankind, and that she will do so until the time that people and society no longer need it.
When you need compassion in your life, you can invoke the energy of Kwan Yin, who usually appears as a number of interlinking infinity symbols for those who are sensitive to deity energies, she is quite a beautiful presence, some people cant help but cry when she draws near. These tears are more of a relief than of pain, they carry a sweetness and innocence and draw you back to your divine self.
