Love is in the air
"Whether you are with the one you love, loving the one you are with, or learning to love yourself alone.... Valentine's Day can still be special...."
Today lots of couples will celebrate their relationships or marriages, some with simple and others with grand acts, may be a rose out of the garden, a column in the classifieds, a hot air balloon ride, or in other cases they might wonder if the petrol station on the way home stocks something mildly acceptable as a last minute "oops, I forgot" gift.
But really the energy of the day can offer so much more, even if you are single, its a day to think about how you treat yourself and how loving you are towards those closest to you.. a time to remember to be loving and also allow yourself to be loved whether by a significant other, or admired for your work, for your place helping in the community, or by those in spirit who share their love with you... To love your soul, look after your body, heart, and being. Love takes many forms, not all of them have to be romantic.
If you are in a relationship and you are far too giving, most of the time, with no respect for your own needs, what possible role have you left for your partner to fill except to take?
Take this timely reminder to ask yourself, what can you do today to reinvigorate the love in your life...
Not sure if you got yourself a good one?
It's days like Valentine's Day that singles, whether women or men should really be accepted by their friends and loved ones as they are, rather than made to feel inferior as "the odd one out." In these more aware times, more people realize that some people are often single by choice, not by lack of options.
No matter your choice or circumstances, if you love you, then it's easier to love and receive love holistically. But if you don't love you, you may find yourself with someone or repeated situations with people who reflect your poor beliefs about your own worth back at you, and therefore relationships which aren't best suited to be anything other than a good mirror for you to realize what it is you really want and need, and have been denying yourself, even if by proxy.
New Chinese Year, A New You Too?
Surprises can be expected and it's a great year to work on your energy levels, immunity, and physical vitality.
When you handle horses in real life, you have to be caring yet firm, clear yet adaptable, and never ever arrogant or complacent. When you first approach a horse, you have to assess their mood, and walk toward them confidently yet calmly, to the side, not loudly or with any aggression head on. Unless you want them to either bolt away, or you want to get a hoof in your face. (Haven't met anyone that has wanted that but hey, there's always a first)...
If you want a horse to walk with you on the lead, you hold the lead in two hands, the hand closer to the horses muzzle holding the rope gently, the hand holding the rope furthest from the horse is held tightly...but never with the rope wrapped around the hand... In case your four legged friend gets excited or anxious and makes a run for it, and you lose control. Never stand in front of a horse, face to face with one reign in each hand yelling at them to come towards you unless, once again, you want them to run, put a hoof in your face, or either sit on their backside in rebellion or get very flighty. If you reward a horse and treat it well while also being their guide, they tend to become a companion and a loyal hard working friend who will do things for you because they want to, not because you forced them to.
Above all else, the minute you assume you will not fall off because you are so darn sure of yourself, be prepared to inhabit the ground at great speed.
Humility, reverence, calmness, firm but caring, quiet yet confident, guiding but not grandstanding should all be helpful pointers for this year. Avoid hiding around the back of the horse unless you know what you are doing, or expect another of those hooves somewhere uncomfortable (once again).
It should be noted that this year is also a 7, and the saying "The horse has already bolted" refers to having closed the gate too late. Boundaries are very important this year, both the clear setting and respecting of them. It's also a time you can either mend fences or let the wrong words loose. Choose well, be clear,
be aware and you are aimed for greater success this year...

Good fats exist and they are not the enemy. But you might find watching your carbs, but not making them the enemy either to be a great help.
Not every type of diet out their works for everyone, it is a matter of sometimes trial and error, and learning what does and doesn't feel good for you. Keep a daily food and work out diary. it can help you find what foods leave you energized and which ones drain you, you also can't lie to your diary, its all there in writing and this can help if you are an emotional eater, as well as if you are a meal skipper who loads on junk later.
Knowing yourself and loving yourself helps you know what is working and what will turn you off. Like giving up anything from smoking or whatever habits are holding you back in life...
You might well fall off the wagon, may be a couple of times, but keep getting back on and eventually, you will have nerves of steel and be unshakable, unstoppable, and a force to be reckoned with.
That change can start right now if you really want it to.
